Pickleball Warm Up
This Tip is for those of you who have played Pickleball for a while as well as those who are new to Pickleball.
I want to show you what a proper warm up looks like.
When you start you are usually warming up with your partner, especially if you’re playing in a tournament. If you are playing recreationally, you’re probably going to warm up with your opponent. You will want to start with a nice short court, we’re going to do some dinks, nice and loose.
Then you will go all the way back, while your partner stays at the net, working on some drops and some drives. Then you come forward to the net and that’s when your partner moves back and you reverse the process. Remember it’s a warmup, you’re not trying to win the point you are trying to warm each other up and get going.
This is a great time to work on some “faster hands” and then work on serves and returns real quick. The biggest mistake that I see players make is they skip the serves and returns part. It’s always important to warm up your serves and returns but you’re getting your body pumping and get nice and loose, and you can always play out some skinny singles points.
Remember if you are playing in a tournament make sure you find out how long you have for your warmup and ideally do a full warmup before you get called for your match.
